Confetti 2.0 is now available for both the free version and Confetti Premium. It’s the biggest update the plugin has had since I first released it, and most of the work went into rebuilding how confetti gets set up so there was room to add a lot more of it. The free version got a rebuilt settings screen with a live preview, and the rest of the new features are in Confetti Premium.
29 Confetti Styles
The first version of Confetti came with 7 confetti styles. There are 29 now, with the original 7 still in the free version and 22 new ones in Confetti Premium. Having that many to choose from means the confetti can fit what you’re celebrating, like Countdown for a New Year sale. A few of the new ones:
- Grand Finale: Fireworks, but you see the shells go up first. Three sparks streak up from the bottom trailing embers, then each one bursts at the top.
- Stadium Wave: A jet of confetti runs along the bottom of the screen from one side to the other and back, like the wave going around a stadium.
- Piñata: Something bursts open above the screen. A heavy dump falls straight down first, then a slow trickle of stragglers keeps dropping.
- Curtain Drop: A solid line of confetti releases across the entire top edge at the same moment and drops as one sheet.
- Slow Motion: Barely any gravity and almost no drag, so one burst creeps outward and hangs there, calm instead of a bang.
- Countdown: Three small pops with a beat between them, each a little bigger, then the whole screen goes off.
The launch video runs through all 29 of them if you want to watch each one before you pick.
Your Own Colors, Emoji and Shapes
Every style can use your own colors and your own size for each piece, along with how many pieces fire, how wide they spread and where on the screen they launch from. You can also swap the confetti pieces for emoji, or upload an SVG file and use your own shape, so the confetti can be your logo or a product you sell.
Overlay Message
The overlay message puts a full-screen message in your own words and colors over the page while the confetti runs, so the visitor sees what the confetti is for. For example, I use one on this site when a discount code is applied, so the screen says “Discount applied!” while the confetti falls.
Confetti Instances
Before 2.0, Confetti had one set of settings for the whole site, so every celebration looked the same everywhere.
Instances let you save as many confetti effects as you want, each with its own name, style and settings, and then pick which one each block, shortcode, button or integration uses. Your contact form, your checkout and your course completion page can each fire different confetti instead of all being the same. Your existing settings move over automatically the first time you open the new settings screen.
58 Plugin Integrations
Confetti now works with 58 WordPress plugins, up from 17 before 2.0. That covers stores, forms, courses, memberships, donations, email signups and popups, so confetti can fire on whatever counts as a win on your site.
Plugins with one big moment, like an order going through in WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads, a course finished in LearnDash or a donation in GiveWP, are set up on Confetti’s own Integrations tab. Form plugins like WS Form, Gravity Forms and WPForms get a Confetti setting inside each form, so you can turn it on for one form and leave the rest alone.
If you build pages with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder or Bricks, each one has its own Confetti element now. The Button block in the WordPress editor has a Confetti setting too, so any button on your site can fire confetti when someone clicks it.
Discount Code Confetti
Confetti can now fire when a discount code is applied in WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads, either for every code or only for the codes you choose. It also works when the code comes in through a link. On Easy Digital Downloads the confetti fires on the page the link lands on, and on WooCommerce it fires on the cart and checkout.
Other Updates
- The settings screen is rebuilt with a live preview, so you can pick a style, change it and watch it fire right there on the page.
- Add the
wps-confetticlass to any button or link and confetti fires when it’s clicked. The click trigger doc has the details. - The Confetti block can fire when the page loads or when it scrolls into view.
- Confetti’s scripts only load on pages that actually use confetti.
- You can type a hex code straight into the color picker.
- Anyone who has reduced motion turned on still won’t see the animation, and that includes every new style. The accessibility doc explains how it works.
- A welcome page asks whether you’d like to share anonymous usage data with me, and it stays off unless you say yes.
Phew! That’s a lot for one release. If you already have Confetti Premium, 2.0 is waiting as a normal update on your Plugins page. If you’re on the free version, the Confetti page shows everything that’s in Premium, and the free version on WordPress.org is there if you haven’t tried it yet. Thanks so much for reading about everything new in Confetti 2.0.
